The adult diaper price that matters is the price per piece, because a bedridden patient uses three to five a day and the packs are sold in 20s, 30s and 60s. Worked out that way, the cheapest widely sold adult diapers in India cost about ₹16 a piece (Amazon’s Solimo tape-style, 60-pack) and the most expensive everyday brand about ₹68 (Friends Overnight). Jan Aushadhi Kendras sell their own range, called Swabhiman, and PMBJP’s official list gives its prices: ₹24 to ₹30 a piece for tape style, in packs of 5. This guide gives the per-piece prices as of October 2026, picks the best value from them, explains what the styles mean, and says what to carry for a hospital admission.

Amazon.in prices were read on 14 October 2026 and change often; the links show today’s price. Jan Aushadhi prices are PMBJP’s official MRPs, read on 23 October 2026. The table is sorted by per-piece price. Two things move it: pack size (60-packs are far cheaper per piece than 20-packs) and style (pants cost more than tape-style). Overnight diapers with higher absorbency cost the most per piece but can mean fewer changes at night.

Best adult diaper in India: picks from this table

  • Lowest price per piece: Amazon Brand Solimo tape style, 60-pack, ₹16.30 a piece.
  • Lowest price for pants style: Liberty Eco pants, 60-pack, ₹19.90 a piece.
  • Smallest pack you can buy today: Jan Aushadhi Swabhiman tape style, pack of 5, from ₹122 (₹24.38 a piece), at a Kendra with no delivery wait.
  • Longest stated wear: Friends Overnight, sold as 16-hour, ₹68.50 a piece.

We have not tested these diapers. The picks go by price and by what each pack states, as read on the dates above. Fit matters more than brand, so measure the waist first, and follow the ward nurse’s advice for a patient with a wound or catheter.

Adult diaper price at Jan Aushadhi Kendra

Jan Aushadhi Swabhiman is PMBJP’s own range of adult diapers for aged, dependent and bedridden people. It was launched for senior citizens in 2021 and is described again in the Government’s September 2026 note on the expanded product basket, which now runs to 2,110 medicines and 315 surgical and consumable items (glucometer strips, nebulizers, pulse oximeters, baby wipes) across 20,000-plus Kendras.

PMBJP’s official Product & MRP List (read 23 October 2026) gives the Swabhiman prices. Tape style is sold in packs of 5: medium ₹122, large ₹131 and XL ₹150, which is ₹24.38, ₹26.25 and ₹30 a piece. Pants style is sold in packs of 10: medium ₹347 and large ₹380, or ₹34.69 and ₹37.97 a piece. The small and XL pants show ₹0, which the list says means the price is still under process. These are MRPs, the same at every Kendra, but stock varies, so call first.

Per piece, Swabhiman costs more than the cheapest packs in the table, because Solimo and Liberty are 60-packs. What a Kendra offers is a small pack today, without waiting for delivery. Find a Kendra with the locator on janaushadhi.gov.in or the Jan Aushadhi Sugam app. Many government hospitals have a Kendra on campus, including AIIMS New Delhi and AIIMS Patna.

Adult diaper price by style: tape or pants, and which to buy for whom

  • Tape style (open diaper with side tapes): for a patient who is bedridden or cannot stand. It can be changed lying down, by one attendant, and it is the cheaper style. Solimo, Dignity and Friends in the table are tape style.
  • Pants style (pull-up): for a patient who can stand or walk to the toilet with help: after surgery, during recovery, or with mild incontinence. Easier to wear under clothes; costs more per piece. Liberty Eco and B-Fit are pants.
  • Overnight or high-absorbency: for nights, or when changes are hard; fewer changes can be worth the higher per-piece price.
  • Underpads (bed sheets with a plastic back): not a diaper, but most wards ask attendants to buy them for bedridden patients; packs of 10 cost about ₹200 to ₹400.

Adult diaper size: measure the waist, not the clothing size

Sizes are by waist or hip measurement in inches, and brands differ: Solimo M covers 28 to 45 inches, Liberty M 24 to 45, B-Fit L 30 to 56. Measure the patient’s waist with a tape and read the range on the pack. The adult diaper price per piece also rises with size: L and XL packs cost more than M for the same count. A diaper that is too large leaks at the legs; one that is too small marks the skin.

Adult diaper price for a hospital admission: what to buy

Buying adult diapers for a hospital admission, five steps
For a hospital admission
  1. Ask the ward what they want. Government hospitals do not supply diapers; the nurse will tell the attendant the style and roughly how many a day.
  2. Buy a 60-pack of tape style for a bedridden patient, not three 20-packs: it is roughly half the price per piece.
  3. Add a pack of underpads and a barrier cream if the patient will be in bed for more than a few days; ask the nurse which cream.
  4. Check the campus Jan Aushadhi Kendra and the chemists outside the gate before ordering online: delivery to a hospital ward is unreliable, and the price gap is small.
  5. Keep the bills. Ayushman Bharat does not pay for diapers, but some employer and CGHS claims accept consumables bought during admission; ask the billing desk.

If the patient is at AIIMS, PGIMER or IGIMS, our guides have the OPD and admission details: AIIMS Delhi OPD, PGI Chandigarh, IGIMS Patna. For what an admission itself costs at a government hospital, see the IGIMS rate list and the PGI rate list.
