LNJP OPD timings for new registration are 7:30 am to 11:30 am, Monday to Saturday, according to the hospital’s own Citizen Charter. LNJP is Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital (also called Lok Nayak Hospital), a Delhi government hospital on Jawaharlal Nehru Marg near Delhi Gate. This guide collects the registration hours, counter locations, fee position, online OPD card and official contact numbers in one place, so you can plan around the LNJP OPD timings before you travel. It also explains what the hospital says about senior citizens, revisits and grievances, which are the questions patients ask most often at the gate.

General information, not medical advice. Hospital rules change. Facts below were read on 17 October 2026 on the hospital’s official website, listed at the end. Anything we could not confirm is flagged in the text.

LNJP OPD timings at a glance

The Citizen Charter and the OPD Registration Timing page on the hospital website agree on the main weekday hours. These LNJP OPD timings are the registration hours, so the rows below show when counters take new patients.

Special and afternoon clinicsMonday to Friday, 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm
Senior Citizens clinicEvery Sunday. Closed on Pulse Polio days and on gazetted holidays that fall on a Sunday
Emergency (casualty)Open 24 hours, as listed in the Citizen Charter

The hospital’s own pages disagree on Sunday senior-citizen clinic hours. The Citizen Charter gives 8:30 am to 11:00 am, the OPD Registration Timing page notes 8:30 am to 11:30 am, and its schedule table lists 8:30 am to 10:30 am. Confirm with the hospital before travelling on a Sunday.

The hospital publishes a long department-wise OPD schedule (an official PDF and a table on its website). Days differ by department and doctor, and some rows contain typing errors, so check the department you need before you go. Most departments in the schedule list a morning clinic of 7:30 am to 11:30 am and many specialty clinics list 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on selected weekdays.

Which days are the LNJP OPD timings valid?

OPD registration runs from Monday to Saturday in the morning. Afternoon special clinics run on weekdays only. Sunday is limited to the Senior Citizens clinic, and that clinic does not run on Pulse Polio days or on gazetted holidays that fall on a Sunday.

The LNJP OPD timings are registration timings, which is not the same as consultation timing. Registration closes at 11:30 am, so arrive well before it. Patients are seen in the department after the card is made, and the waiting time depends on the crowd that day.

Where to register at LNJP

The OPD Registration Timing page lists separate registration points depending on who you are:

  • Main OPD building, ground floor: new registration, except Gynaecology and antenatal care (ANC).
  • Orthopaedic building, ground floor: orthopaedic patients and all revisits.
  • Gate No. 4: Gynaecology and ANC registration.
  • New Medical Building, ground floor: haemophilia.
  • Special Ward, 3rd floor, Room 316: CDC and COE.

A help desk is listed on the ground floor, at the back of the Emergency Block. If you are unsure which counter applies, ask there before you join a queue.

Is online registration available for LNJP OPD?

Yes, in a limited way. The Citizen Charter says a patient can make an OPD card by visiting the Online Registration System (ORS) website at ors.gov.in, take a print-out of the card and bring it to the hospital for consultation. The Charter adds one important condition: there is no priority over other OPD patients who are already waiting.

So an ORS card saves time at the registration counter, but it does not change the LNJP OPD timings or move you ahead in the department queue. If you want the general ORS steps used by other government hospitals, read our AIIMS online appointment guide and the AIIMS Delhi online appointment guide. The ORS process is the same system, though each hospital decides what it offers.

Lok Nayak Hospital does not appear on the public ORS list of nodal officers (checked 18 October 2026), so do not assume you can generate an LNJP OPD card through ors.gov.in. Use the hospital’s own registration route described above and ask at the enquiry counter.

Fees: what does LNJP OPD cost?

The Citizen Charter states that all services at the hospital are free of cost, with no user charges, and that diagnostic laboratory and radiology services (including CT and MRI) and the 24-hour ambulance are free. It does not publish a registration fee for the OPD card.

That is the hospital’s stated policy for every patient who comes within the LNJP OPD timings. If a counter asks you for money for a registration card or a test, ask for a receipt and use the grievance route described below.

Documents to carry for your visit

LNJP OPD timings: documents checklist
What to carry

The hospital pages do not publish one complete document list, so this is a practical checklist. Carry:

  • A valid photo ID. An Aadhaar card is the most widely accepted, and the ORS portal uses Aadhaar-linked identity.
  • Your printed ORS OPD card, if you generated one.
  • Old prescriptions, reports and scans for the condition you are visiting for.
  • The referral note, if another doctor sent you.
  • Your revisit card, if you have been to LNJP before. Revisits are registered at the Orthopaedic building counter, per the OPD page.

Departments and services at LNJP

The Citizen Charter lists a wide range of services. In the OPD schedule you will find, among others:

  • General Medicine, General Surgery, Paediatrics and Paediatric Surgery
  • Gynaecology and antenatal care, and Orthopaedics including a fracture clinic
  • ENT, Dermatology, Neurosurgery, Burns and Plastic Surgery
  • Pulmonary Medicine, Nephrology, Endocrinology, Rheumatology, Haematology and Hepatology
  • Pain clinic, Radiotherapy, Anti-Rabies clinic and Ayurveda (Panchkarma) and Unani
  • Diagnostics such as pathology, X-ray, ultrasound, CT and MRI

Which doctor sits on which day is set by each department, so use the official schedule table for the day you plan to visit. The LNJP OPD timings for a specialty clinic can differ from the general morning hours, and the schedule shows the room number as well.

  4. Register at the right counter (main OPD, Orthopaedic building or Gate No. 4).
  5. Go to the department room and wait for your turn. Keep your card and reports together.

Ayushman card and costs

OPD at LNJP is free according to the hospital, whatever the LNJP OPD timings you attend, so an Ayushman card is not needed for a consultation. The card concerns admission and day-care treatment. Our Ayushman card at AIIMS guide explains how the scheme works, using official sources.

If something goes wrong: grievances

The Citizen Charter describes three routes. You can file a complaint online, round the clock, on the Delhi government’s Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (PGMS). You can use the hospital’s Complaint Cell in person. And the Charter links to the Delhi government’s vigilance complaint system. Patients have the right to make complaints and suggestions.
