Introduction to CMC Eye Hospital Vellore
CMC Vellore Eye Hospital is your trusted destination for top-quality eye care. Founded in 1941, it has become a renowned multi-specialty eye care center with NABH accreditation. The hospital aims to prevent blindness and offer advanced treatments, marking a significant step in India’s fight against vision impairment.
In August 2012, CMC Vellore’s Schell Eye Hospital expanded its eye services to the Chittoor campus. Initially, there was one monthly outpatient visit, and patients needing more care or cataract surgery were referred to Schell Eye Hospital. In 2017, OPD services increased to three days a week with a part-time ophthalmologist. By January 2019, a full-time ophthalmologist allowed daily eye services. Despite having essential facilities, more equipment is needed to improve our eye care services at Chittoor.
CMC Vellore Eye Hospital has a team of 18 dedicated full-time faculty members and 100 inpatient beds. The hospital serves over one lakh outpatients and performs 7,500 surgeries annually. It offers comprehensive eye care, from routine check-ups to specialized treatments, ensuring top-notch services for all patients.
